The I in K-Logs.
"Hey, I like to collaborate using e-mail, chat and occasionally use discussion groups. However, if I am going to put some real effort into translating my thinking into bits, I want to make sure that effort is archived and used by as many people as possible. I also want it to be part of my body of work (which... is a representation of me online to everyone that hasn't met me face to face). K-Logs make this possible within a corporate context."

Simple instructions on replacing your expensive and relatively useless KM system with a K-Log system that actually works....

Dashboard. Although you probably have seen this already, it is another project that attempts to organize the digital detritus that all of us are plagued with. Seems like this is the early trend of the year. What do we call this category of software??
To a certain extent, all of this software -- MyLifeBits, Dashboard, and DEVONthink -- will provide a more stable foundation for weblogging than the current tools provide. Why? It will make it much easier to draw on available resources when publishing to your weblog by automating the process of resource discovery.

CNet. Can Google save AOL? If AOL wasn't a financial basket case, they would already be in motion to buy Google. I do think the question should be posed in reverse. Can AOL save Google? In the end, there are only going to be three portals: Yahoo, MSN, and AOL. Google has only downside from here on out. Why? Google's highly leverage play to gain marketshare has reached its pinnacle. In retrospect that will be considered the easy part. Now, in order to grow revenue faster than the growth of the Web, it needs to move into portal space. That is expensive and filled with competitors.

DEVONthink (thanks Thomas). This is pretty interesting. A freeform database with a browser interface that organizes your local data by similarity. Lots of nice plug-ins including 3rd party efforts. OSX only unfortunately. It does handle OPML though.
