Orlowski launches into another rant. Conclusion: WiFi and Weblogs suck. LOL. This got me thinking: isn't The Register just a poorly formatted weblog? So why the hositility? Ken agrees.

Scoble is blogging like a maniac on his moving day. Wow, where does he get all that free time? On the last moving day I had, the movers fell far behind by mid-day. It was clear that we probably wouldn't finish by nightfall and would need another day (this would cost me a lot more). Faced with this realization, the guys doing the work began to go into slow motion with the expectation of making this a two day job. I had been helping all along, but at that point I went into high gear hauling things into the truck like a madman. Given my example, they sped up and we completed the job at 11 PM (after starting at 6 AM). I gave them a $20 tip, but we all concluded that this was one of the toughest days of work we had ever experienced. I don't know where I am going with this post, but this incident is closely tied to any mention of moving in my mind.

Wired. Of course smart refrigerators didn't take off. At a minimum, you need RFIDs on products and a grocery delivery service to get any traction. Second step: plug-in modules that connect to a home 802.11b network to order products you need (that would allow you to retrofit existing units). Another module would probably be installed in various cabinets to feed orders to the delivery system. A screen unit, if one is available for the system, would be for ordering one-off items or taking advantage of discounts. Totally blue sky thinking.

Adrian Holovaty has custom RSS feeds. Nice innovation. As I begin to scale the number of RSS feeds I subscribe to, I am starting to think that I need multiple "news" pages. One for general reading and others for filtered feeds (based on keywords) that will prevent me from missing critical information in the general page (it "flips" very quickly).
My custom feeds include the headline, full text and permalink from the 5 latest entries that include a word or phrase of your choosing. This lets you filter which Holovaty.com content you get. To access a custom feed, use the URL convention holovaty.com/rss/filterstring, where "filterstring" is the word or phrase you want to require in each entry... A few examples:
