News.com 8 customers of Google's search appliance listed (out of more than 100) -- most of whom seem to be trying out the product. Since the pricing on this hardware product is similar to a couple of servers, a success would be sales in the thousands of units. This doesn't bode well for Google's enterprise prospects.

Wow. I have ramped up my portfolio by 30% in a week of trading on HSX (this puts me within a 1/2 a percentage point of the top 10 players this week -- out of 300,000 + players). Update: I am now well above that and should be in the top ten as of COB today. I have found handicapping movies just prior to their release gives me the best return. Big win going long on Freaky Friday (great reviews and a movie that my kids were very interested in seeing). Another big win going short on Uptown Girls (Brittany Murphy can't launch a $30 m movie) and a short on the last weeks of SpyKids (which was overhyped and lost momentum due to bad WOM). Moderate gains on preproduction movies. Break-even on warrants, options, and star-bonds. Much more fun than a stock market game. Interesting how the movie Le Divorce took a tumble (will barely crack $5 m in the first 4 weeks due to bad pr re: Kate Hudson).
