Has there been any progress with REST-based services recently?  I haven't seen any, and REST Wiki seems to be in hibernation (in that only minor changes are being made).  Examples of new services please.

Web 2.0 is all about lighting up underutilized PCs, which Clay Shirky calls "the Dark matter of the Internet"

With improvements in hardware, connectivity and sheer numbers (of connected PCs) still mounting rapidly, anyone who can figure how to light up the internet's dark matter gains access to a large and growing pool of computing resources, even if some of the functions are centralized...

NYTimes.  Bush opts to delay power grid improvement proposal.  Why?  A more efficient power grid would save customers in the north east and CA $500 m a year.  It would raise prices for power in the south, Bush's political base.  Guess who lost that political equation?   Basically, CA (54) and the north eastern states NY (36), PA (23), CT (8), VT (3), NH (4), ME (4), RI (4), NJ (15), and MA (12) are being corralled into a solid anti-Republican block (total votes = 163 of the 270 needed to elect) by Republican hostility.  Building on this base, I think it is possible to mint this electoral map for the Dems in most elections moving forward.

What I would like to see:  a method by which Google's AdSense or Overture's Content Match could be applied to a single post.  This would allow the inclusion of ads within RSS (not ad boxes, but simple text with the label advertisement).  I really don't want to see ads in my RSS, but it is inevitable.  For qualified content, like what I am working on with the Weblog Network, it is a must. Should ads get their own treatment or should they be included in the description?
