If you track our Feedster Stats page at all (and yeah its slow to display and I know I need to make a cached version) then you'll see something interesting: 160,000 + feeds now.  That's right.  Last night we added every Live Journal user to Feedster which doubled our database size.

 Wired.  Here's a look at the upgrade path for the aircraft carrier Ronald Reagan.  There is a school of thought in the military reform movement that claims that aircraft carriers are useless.  The reason?  Over 90% of a carrier battlegroup's weapons are defensive and not offensive.  In a world where there isn't a global sea power (even on the horizon) that can challenge the US at sea, this argument makes sense.  The money should be spent on other areas (like a couple of divisions worth of civil affairs units).
