 A peer application that makes you money for you. Gomez, a company I built, is looking for international participants in its peer network (already over 10,000 machines all over the world). The peers will be used to test the transaction systems of financial institutions around the globe (which will make the end-user experience at your favorite online broker, bank, or mutual fund much better). Gomez will pay you via PayPal for each minute you are online on a monthly basis. I think they would pay you extra if you connect via dial-up in Germany, Japan, and Canada. Might be a way to defray the costs of computing.
