 Wow.  A personal cell phone jammer (it also hits 900 MHz cordless phones).  Tweak this up a bit with more power and I bet you could jam a city block, for about ~ $200.  Hook it into the lighter in your car and you have a mobile jamming system.  Here are quite a few other systems available, many at higher power and with more capability.

 Now that we are committed to rapid elections in Iraq -- without constitutional safeguards -- what will we do if the country goes Islamist and wants to pattern the regime after Iran?  Will we annul the elections?

 The US National debt clock.  Current level:  6.88 trillion $$.  Estimated 2008 level:  9.3 trillion $$.  The doubling rate is ~ 9 years while our economy's doubling rate is ~24 years.  It's sobering to have a look at this every once in a while.

 The age.  Is this the face of a nepotist?

 BBC.  US in a rush to cede power to Iraqi Shias.  The bombing in heavily Shiite city of Nasiriyah (that killed 18 Italians) shook up the US administration.  It indicated that the guerrilla movement is starting to spread into the Shiite south and took away the fig leaf of explanation that the guerrillas were only Baath party "dead-enders."
