Ed Cone interviews the Edwards Internet team.  Nice progress given their late start.  Fast follower, not an innovation-based effort.

Another sign of creeping Victorianism is Caitlin Flanagan's article on how nannies have become a staple of American life.

You need two conditions to co-exist if you are going to have widespread use of nannies: a huge, booming middle class and an equally huge and pitiably struggling underclass. That's what you had in Victorian England...

The article also points out how much exploitation of these women figures into the process.

Wow.  It looks like Howard Stern is in for a rough ride.   A new Victorianism is gaining steam in the US, on so many levels (from sex to economics to empire to corporate mercenaries).

"Karmazin, during a company-wide conference call Wednesday, warned top staff at Viacom-owned Infinity Broadcasting that a new "zero tolerance" policy was in effect against indecency. "If you don't comply, you'll be fired for cause," he said. "This company won't be a poster child for indecency." A follow-up memo to the radio stations' staff read: "Any station airing programming that has any sexual or excretory content needs to take whatever steps are necessary to make sure that the programming is not even arguably indecent."
