Scoble responds to critics that say that he shouldn't blog about non-technical topics (like gay marriage). I have some questions about this pushback. Is it because he doesn't write well (he does)? Is it because he isn't smart enough to understand the issues involved (he is)? Is it because he doesn't have credibility on the topic (who does)? Is it because he may disagree with some readers (he may, but that makes him more human as a blogger)? Is it because he is running a corporate weblog (he doesn't, it isn't endorsed by Microsoft)? Is it because technical geeks are shallow thinkers (hardly)?

Jeff Jarvis has a great post on the Stern censorship. Satellite radio is about to get a huge boost. The support for this censorship is so extreme, it leads me to ask: Why are Republicans so negative on the media marketplace all of a sudden? Hey, the marketplace should decide this and not a bunch of politicians. LOL.
One thing to consider is how politics play into this. Stern went anti-Bush a couple of weeks ago (which promises 9 more months of Bush bashing). Clear Channel took him off of the air in the swing states of PA and FL. As a radio personality, he clearly has political impact (Pataki, Schwarzenegger, and Whitman pandered to him and benefited as a result -- note: these are smart Republicans). Could he have made a difference in these swing states in the fall election? Sure. Don't think this is lost on the people at Clear Channel or media maven Karl Rove. 100,000 votes here and there and the election can swing to the Dems. This is going to be a tight race.
