The New Blitzkrieg. Terrorism is in a process of rapid change (a phase transition in punctuated equilibrium). This shift will provide terrorist networks with a sustainable method of warfare that will enable decisive results against their nation-state opponents. The real threat isn't WMDs, its what will be named "urban take-down."
NOTE: I am going to continue working on this post for the next couple of days, it is important to get it right.

Reuters. Oil heads for a sustained price of $40 a barrel. The market expects a significant attack by terrorists on oil production. Unlike previous bubbles, there is not a mechanism to deflate the security concerns that are driving this price spike. Even small attacks on oil related infrastructure/personnel will serve to sustain these fears.
