Excellent!  I have been invited to speak by Kevin Werbach at Supernova on the topic of decentralization and national security.  Nothing could be more timely. See you there.

Also on a related note, I have been told that my work on Global Guerrillas is getting traction within senior levels of the military intelligentsia (there is such a thing).  Let's see if that translates into a gig at a think tank. ;->

Nick Wreden sent me his excellent book, "Fusion Branding."  Unlike most books on branding/marketing, Nick doesn't puff his ego, rehash past victories, or update tired concepts.  What he does do is provide smart, granular advice on how to successfully market products in an environment characterized by:
  • Empowered customers,
  • globalization,
  • and the rise of the Internet.

As you may know by reading my weblog, I am very much in favor of performance-based marketing (accountability) and lasting two-way relationships with customers (retention).  Nick provides insight on how to do this effectively.

Worth a read.  I am going to keep it close by the next time I run a company. BTW, Nick is smart enough to recognize that weblogs should be a part of any marketing campaign, which is saying a lot.

Global Guerrilla Swarming.  Swarming tactics have been used effectively across history.  Advances in communications technology has eliminated the final barrier to the development of a new type of foe:  global guerrillas swarmers that focus on infrastructure attack.  Like traditional swarming, the results of global guerrilla swarming operations (economic attrition) will not be decisive despite its destructive impact.  However, there is a variant that I am working on that will enable a decisive finish to a swarming operation (will publish it soon).
