Philip Bobbitt, author of "The Shield of Achilles" sent me this interesting tidbit:
...terrorism tracks the constitutional order it attacks. National liberation movements tracked the 20th century nation-state. Movements like al Qaeda (networked, outsourcing, providing infrastructure but not much else, decentralized) track the 21st century market state.

The Guardian. The Chalabi story continues to grow. It's now being claimed that Chalabi was a false flag dupe for American intelligence that led to the invasion of Iraq:
"It's pretty clear that Iranians had us for breakfast, lunch and dinner," said an intelligence source in Washington yesterday. "Iranian intelligence has been manipulating the US for several years through Chalabi."
Larry Johnson, a former senior counter-terrorist official at the state department, said: "When the story ultimately comes out we'll see that Iran has run one of the most masterful intelligence operations in history. They persuaded the US and Britain to dispose of its greatest enemy."

Cascading System Failure. It's fairly easy to damage critical infrastructure through damage to high-load network nodes. The loss of high-load nodes creates cascades of failure that can damage the entire network (in effect damaging themselves). Global guerrillas will use this technique to leverage the impact of attacks against infrastructure networks. Author's note: If you like this, you will like what I post on this in the near future. The pipeline is fulllll.

WSJ. In another Iraq development, the Pentagon is considering replacing Lt. Gen. Ricardo Sanchez as the top military official in Iraq. Gen. Sanchez has been drawn into the abuse scandal recently. New evidence, contained in a letter he signed last winter, suggests U.S. handlers routinely denied some prisoners protections under the Geneva Conventions, but a senior defense official said the change is unrelated to the Abu Ghraib scandal.
