It's going to be really interesting to see if tradesports.com's presidential futures exchange is proven correct. Right now Bush wins the national (moderate win). Here's the results from the battleground states:
- Win: Florida, Colorado, Ohio (it flipped), New Mexico, and Wisconsin.
- Loss: Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Michigan.

Terrorism as a Technique. Terrorism as a method of warfare in this conflict is in decline. That's the good news. The bad news is that something worse is on the way. The shift from the use of terrorism to global guerrilla warfare wasn't a decision by al Qaeda's leadership (they lost control of the movement when they fragmented). It was the product of a decentralized process of development.

I am not sure that OBL's video was as much of a revelation like wretchard seems to think. This conflict was always about the application of US power and not fight to the death over our "our way of life" (it also has very specific goals as outlined by "anonymous" in Imperial Hubris). For those that are seeing this for the first time, welcome.

Lind. This election doesn't offer a choice on defense issues. Both party's candidates are equally clueless. I agree.
