After nearly 2 years of successful attacks by global guerrillas, the security for the northern pipelines was handed over to Kurdish peshmergas earlier this week. It is also likely that peshmergas will be given control of convoy security for exports from Turkey (80 Turkish truck drivers have been killed so far).
