WT. Pakistan is quick to blame Iran for the growing global guerrilla insurgency within Balochistan (see for more). This reflexive action hides the real problem: al Qaeda (substantial remnants of which are being sheltered in the province). The al Qaeda network has clearly begun to help the Balochs apply global guerrilla methods (learned from Iraq) in their fight with Pakistan.

Chet Richards on Military Operations Other Than War (MOOTW), a chapter in a new book he is writing. Good food for thought. Word Doc.

Life works in mysterious ways. I wrote about high energy radio frequency (HERF) devices on Global Guerrillas a couple of times (. Along comes Dave and he convinces the journo (Cyrus Farivar) that wrote an article on the topic to release his notes. Nice!
Here's my take. Everyone wants something like this, and not just law enforcement. A device with a 50-ft range and a much smaller form factor (man portable) would be right in the sweet spot. At that point, it will become the AK-47 of systems sabotage.
